Typographicly led activism campaign
The D&AD New Blood Award is a global competition aimed specifically at students. With our project PÖAPÖ, Julia Nigg, Sabrina Hänggi and I have fulfilled the briefing of Google Fonts and won a New Blood Wooden Pencil.
Climate change is a consequence of our consumption. "Yes, I want this. Do I really want this?" This is a statement found in the poem "The Ideal" by Kurt Tucholsky. It is a valuable message about how important it is to reflect on your own consumer decisions. After you catch yourself wanting to buy something, ask yourself: Do I really want this? This is the basis of our movement, which is called PÖAPÖ. We don't want a revolution, but a collective effort. Our key motif, the receipt, calls on the public to take action. Noto Sans Mono from Google Fonts helped us to reinforce our message. The receipt is to be affixed to advertisements, sale signs and other places where consumerism prevails. Anyone can join in and spread the message.
